January 26, 2019 - Safety Always

January 30, 2019

This most recent trip has gotten me all shook up about safety. Yeah we may have an off day and take our safety for granted, but there is a difference of being aware of something bad and then doing something to prevent it from happening again. This experience has definitely put me out of my comfort zone, which has now sparked my interest in the next level of safety. Climbing has been such an important hobby in my life this past year, that I never truly thought about the worst things that could happen. It wasn't until I started wanting to multipitch that my thought process for safety changed. Since I love learning new systems, I am now even more interested in the field of search and rescue. Please check each other and look out for one another! Also, check your knot!

Key Points:

Safety

Safey for others

Systems

Awareness
